Hunterbond is a modern company with a long history.  The original company was formed in 1937 and has always been a pioneer in the development of glulaminated, engineered wood products.

When the Ranex Group purchased Hunterbond in 2009 it became part of a timber based group of companies with strong channels of supply and distribution.

Based in the Nelson Region which is noted for its high quality plantation timber resources - most of Hunterbond's Radiata and Douglas Fir timber is supplied by sawmills owned by the Ranex Group, ensuring security of supply and quality feedstock.

A close working relationship with Nelson Pine Industries Ltd has lead to Hunterbond using quality Nelson Pine Industries Ltd products to manufacture advanced timber designed buildings.

All production is carried out on our site by skilled craftspeople with the capacity to turn plans and concepts into reality.  This is further supported by our in-house engineering capability and working closely with leading structural engineers, architects and the construction industry.

Timber and LVL are crafted onsite using fingerjointing, lamination, machining, sanding, bandsawing, joinery skills, LOSP treatment, kiln drying and quality testing to create a product that meets the full specifications and designs required.

Our plant is situated approximately 15km from Port Nelson, which is well serviced with international exports of horticulture, forestry and fishing products shipped internationally from Nelson, New Zealand.
