Hunters [1998] Ltd is a new-look company with a long history. The original company was formed in 1937 and has always been a pioneer in the development and usage of glue laminated, engineered wood products [HunterBond].

We are a people focused company who have long serving staff with huge experience and knowledge in the industry.

HunterBond supports the environment with on site capability to mill our own feed stock from logs [harvested from Nelson renewable plantation forest approx 50km from our site] giving us the flexibility to cut non standard feed sizes to meet our customers designs and minimise wastage. We are able to purchase short logs that are of less value and defecting all knots etc out through the optimiser saw before finger jointing [we can finger joint up to 280mm wide] which maintains a competitive position in the market. We use all our own waste to fire the boiler which powers our kilns for drying the timber. We also have planning capacity for sections of up to 1130mm X 295mm. Our lathe can turn posts up to 8m in length and 600mm in diameter, and we can machine to any given profile for mouldings etc.

Our LOSP[Light Organic Solvent Preservative] treatment plant is a state of the art treatment facility with a chamber 16 meters long 1.1 meters high by 1.3 meters wide treating up to H3 and which does not contain any Chrome Copper or Arsenic.
